Not a member of digital group?
No problem, you can join at any time by contacting the The Secretary or by ringing 02 9890 9795 Tuesday to Thursday. Our wonderful staff will be pleased to assist.
Currently we have around 280 members in our Digital Group, which was originally founded in 2002 when digital processes were coming online. Since then we have seen many changes over the years and the changes still continue. Information relating to the beginnings of the Digital Group within APS is found within the Digital Group History. You will find a link to this alongside of this page. Associated with this is a list of people who were the recipients of the Digital Group Award. At present this award is in abeyance but it is not impossible to re-introduce it. Details relating to it are also available across the page under awards.
The APS has charged Digital Group with the responsibility of looking into continuing developments related to photography and to investigate new ways in which these developments can be used for the benefit of group members and the APS in general.
This year the Digital Group Council is working on developing new services for Digital Group members and it is hopeful some will be put in place early in 2021. In the meantime we will update our members via email to inform you of our progress. A link to the membership of this council is to the right of this page.
This year, 2021, the Digital Group will once again be running two fantastic exhibitions which are open to all APS members. The Australian Digital Photography Awards (ADPA) and the APS National Digital Exhibitions.
And don’t forget our Monitor Newsletter. We encourage our members to contribute and share their stories and images.
As well 2021 will be a year of some changes and we look forward to sharing these with you soon. In the meantime if you have any questions about the group please do not hesitate to contact me.
