APS Accreditation Logos
APS has considered several ways to increase the benefit of being an APS member and to improve the recognition of current members. The APS brand and logo is highly respected and members who have achieved APS Honours often use their honours acronym as part of their communication with others. Combining these two elements provides an opportunity for members to further promote their APS achievements. However, we also recognises that not all members seek Honours as part of their membership but may still want to identify as an APS Member.
To provide additional recognition for current APS Members, the following use of APS branding has been approved by APS.
- All APS members can download and use the APS Member Logo.
- APS members with Skill or Service Honours can use the use the Skills or Service Honour Logo that they have been awarded by APS.
- All APS Accreditation Logos can be used as part of any member personal or professional correspondence including but not limited to emails, letters, social media pages and personal or professional photography based websites.
- The approved APS Accreditation Logo must be updated each year to reflect the ‘current membership year’.
- If a member progresses to a higher Honours level during the calendar year, they may update their APS Accreditation Logos to reflect the newly acquired Honour once formal acknowledgement has been received from APS.
- Any misuse of APS branding would potentially be a breach of the APS Code of Conduct.
- Non-APS members may use any Honours wording/acronym (LAPS, AAPS, FAPS etc) that they have earned; however, they are not permitted to use APS Accreditation Logos.
Q & A
Can I download and use the Member Logo and Skills Honour Logo?
Yes, you can, although the year on your Skills Honour Logo confirms your current membership. Of course if you have Skills and Service Honours you can download and use all that have been awarded to you (ie: AV-FAPS, MAPS and ESAPS).
Why is there a year on the Logo?
The year relates to member’s current memberships and having the year on the logo clearly indicates to everyone that the person is a current member of APS.
Do I have to update my Logo every year?
Yes, every year you should download the relevant APS Accreditation Logos to show that you are a current member of APS.
Do I have to use these Accredited logos?
No you do not. However, some members who work as professional photographers may find this a beneficial marketing tool. Members seeking opportunities to undertake volunteer photography work will find this enhances their photographers credentials. Others may simply want to display their APS credentials and currency of membership.
If I do not renew my membership what happens?
If you discontinue your membership, you can continue using (eg) LAPS, FAPS, GMAPS etc; however; you have to discontinue using the APS Accreditation Logos and you will not have access to the logos in the future as they are only accessible after a member log onto the APS website.
