who we are ... divisions ... print

The print division aims to promote and encourage the photographic image on paper. There are many ways of achieving this – the use of silver in conventional monochrome papers, dyes in conventional colour papers and alternative methods of printing, chemicals in other printings and, of course, digitally printed images.

Folio Services. Joining a folio is of major benefit! Most folios are small, with a maximum of 10 members. Members in the group send their prints to each other by post for comment. Some folios have a voting system in the round. To join this service or to find out more about it please contact the Director of Print Folio Services, Alwyn Kucks.

Print Evaluation Service. With this service you can send up to 4 prints (any size) at a time to someone who will evaluate them for you, including suitability for competition and exhibition, at no cost. At times these images may appear in the Society’s magazine, “Image” in a photo comment column. To use this service, contact Bert Hoveling AAPS SSAPS.

Competitions. There are at least two competitions held each year. To enter into competitions is free. Notices and forms for these appear in “Image” regularly.
