Groups of up to ten members circulate images for helpful comment and assessment. Some Folios are based on specific subject matter whilst others place no restriction at all. Participation is of particular value to members and life long friendships have often been formed.
Folios provide an opportunity to comment and vote on images as well as receiving comments on your own images - both good and bad. The process of looking for good and bad points in images gradually becomes second nature, which can be helpful when you put the camera viewfinder to your eye. Within folios, participants also write to each other about places, problems, super-brews, equipment, famous photographers, other Society activities and the like.
The APS also has an online Folio in operation that enables you to upload your image rather than using the postal system. This type of system caters for more members on a regular basis. There are monthly Folios and a weekly Folio. The only requirement is that you are a member of at least one Division (see links above).
If you wish to participate please contact Jenni Horsnell.
