The Annual Conference of the Australian Photographic Society (APSCON 2010) is in Roma, Queensland. Roma is about 4 -5 hours North/West of Brisbane....depending how many times you stop for photos!
It will be held at the Roma Cultural Centre from the 18th September to the 24th September.
If you want to take the trip in small stages I can recommend the Dalby Tourist Park on the way out West.
If you are travelling from the North then The Carnarvon Gorge is to the North/East of Roma.
As you are coming this to Roma then it could be a good idea to give yourself 3-7 days to stay at the Carnarvon Gorge before or after APSCON!
Roma, a charming country town, is also accessible by Train, Coach and by Plane from Brisbane.
The country side is flattish with smaller hills. In September it can be warm during the days and cooler at night. It may also be a good idea to bring some insect repellent and a sun hat!
The town is welcoming and there are quite a lot of hotels and motels but beware...there will also be a Spring festival and cattle sales at the same time so you need to BOOK your accommodation early....even if you book for the actual conference later.
The photographic opportunities and activities will be well worth your trip to country Queensland!
The programme also includes exciting speakers from overseas and from round Australia.
The APSCON Committee and the APS Management Committee look forward to meeting you when you visit Roma!
