APS offers its own Honours, and also recommends photographers for International Honours conferred by the lntemational Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP). Honours are awarded for photographic excellence as well as service to photography. Many APS members have achieved photographic honours ranging from LAPS to MFIAP. The APS Honours of LAPS (Licentiate of the APS) and AAPS (Associate of the APS) are available subject to the applicant having been a member of APS for at least one year as at the closing date of applications is the 31st March. Details of requirements for Honours are available from the APS Office.

The Society also has a system of continual recognition for members who follow the International/National exhibitions as regular exhibitors. It is the Certificate of Achievement (CA) and can be used within Australia when competing. The CA has five levels to attain. It then progresses into the Opal Levels. These levels finish when you want them to. The first level is available to all members of the Society and starts at 70 points with 7 different titles in Colour Slides, Mono Prints, Colour Prints, Nature and PhotoJournalism. In the AV section it starts at 35 points with 2 different titles. The full list, details and forms are available from the APS Office.
