Contemporary Division
This group within the APS caters for a wide range of individual interpretations of photographic imaging. Many have joined the group because they are exploring their own personal approach to photography - self generated themes, producing series of works rather than making one-off images. For many, the starting point is the concept to aim to illustrate rather than simply the wish to create a striking or pretty picture.
Folio Services
Joining a folio is of major benefit. These folios use a web based system of which you upload an image and the other members in your Folio are able to comment on your image. You in turn are encouraged to comment on their images as well. For postal folios prints may be produced in the darkroom or on an electronic printer, they may be mixed media, photomontage, photocopies ... the skies the limit! This is an opportunity for plenty of discussion, support and free exchange of ideas. The web folios follows the same concept however these images are uploaded to the APS Web Folios. It is a closed system, available to contemporary web folio members only.
Exhibitions
CDiv is committed to providing the opportunity for members to exhibit together. These exhibitions have been held since 1994.
